Donor Spotlight:
Stanley Slutzky
For over 40 years Stanley Slutzky has made donations to The William Breman Jewish Home and many other Jewish and non-Jewish organizations in Atlanta. But the Jewish Home was closest to his heart. Stanley wanted to do something for the people who made The Home so wonderful — the caring and dedicated employees. For that reason he and his wife Phyllis created an endowment to assist staff by subsidizing a portion of the premium they pay for health insurance.
Stanley and Phyllis recognized that the WBJH staff is the “heart” of The Home. They understand that our community is extremely fortunate to have such a beautiful facility surrounded by lovely gardens. But more important than “bricks and mortar” is the high quality of care provided by the staff of the Jewish Home.
In order to ensure that their legacy would continue to grow, Stanley and Phyllis asked their children to donate to the endowment fund they created instead of giving gifts for their birthdays and other special occasions. Having the whole family participate in the legacy makes Stanley particularly proud. His parents were not wealthy people, but they always believed in tzedakah. By creating his Jewish Legacy, Stanley’s values will be a part of the Breman Home for generations. Stanley and Phyllis’s endowment will serve as an example for the importance they placed in charitable giving, a legacy they will impart on their children.
